Recent Projects

  • Blue Ribbon is spearheading the State of Rhode Island’s first Learning Lab for Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia in partnership with the RI Department of Education.

    This work involves:

    1) Organizing a speaking series of experts to present on high-interest topics related to dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia

    2) Identifying model classrooms across the state to highlight best practices in literacy

Our goal is to ensure parents, guardians, caregivers  and educators are supported in recognizing characteristics of dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia,  and related disorders as well as develop an understanding of evidence-based interventions and  accommodations to support student success.

  • Blue Ribbon is supporting over 30 literacy instructional coaches across Rhode Island as part of the inaugural RI Reads Coaching Corps—funded by the Comprehensive Literacy State Development Grant. We provide boots-on-the-ground support to help literacy coaches support educators within their unique district contexts.

  • We served as chief grant writer for a $40 million Comprehensive Literacy State Development grant awarded to the State of Rhode Island in 2024.

This was one of the largest education grants awarded in the state’s history.

The grant will empower districts to hire and support instructional coaches in literacy, provide Tier I, II, and III instructional supports to students across the state, and enable partnerships with institutes of higher learning.

  • We delivered middle school mathematics coaching for a large urban local education agency in Rhode Island. This work included collaborating with teachers and school/district leaders to establish systems that support high-quality, standards-aligned math instruction. Key strategies included curriculum implementation, instructional walkthroughs, and modeling effective teaching practices.

  • We provide equine-assisted learning sessions designed to help individuals and groups build leadership or academic skills.

Each session is tailored to meet specific client goals. Current offerings include: equine-assisted tutoring, mindset/ personal development sessions, leadership development sessions, horse-based challenges that promote key life skills, and hands-on learning in basic horse care.

  • As a subcontractor for national education organizations such as SchoolKit and Instruction Partners, Blue Ribbon consults on a wide variety of state and district level initiatives, including but not limited to:

    • Coaching math and ELA instructional leaders to support teachers, implement high quality curriculum, and monitor progress towards student achievement goals in a large urban district. This work led to significant gains in state assessment performance results across all campuses directly served.

    • Working with instructional leaders in one of the nation’s largest states to evaluate instructional frameworks and coach regional service centers so that they can provide high-quality curriculum implementation coaching to local education agencies.

    • Partnering with Special Education Case Managers in one of the nation’s largest urban school districts to adapt high quality instructional materials to ensure that differently-abled students are able to access and succeed in core instruction.

    • Serving as the lead Project Director to support the multi-year roll out of a statewide implementation framework, professional learning series, and suite of materials to support curriculum implementation strategy in partnership with a state department of education.
